visited the largest mosque, it was magnificent! the exterior and interior were gorgeous. it suffered a history of severe flooding before but has since been renovated and touched up.
decided to go local today and went to a wet market as well as the
sook (market that sells spices and dried goods). you won't believe what i found!
saw these while walking along the road. Muscat is so beautiful, the blend between natural rocks and man-made buildings just stood side by side. everything else is low-rise; did i mention the tallest building in here is only 12 floors?
the drive up was pretty cool. just look at these, they never bore me.
nice view! the yachts do actually belong to the residents here but anyone could rent them. you just need connections.
and we went to a beach nearby. took off our shoes and let down our hair. it's quite interesting to see so many people here, all relaxing and playing in the sand and water. the tranquility beats nowhere else. couldn't stay for sunset as we have a long drive back before it gets dark.
